There is no RR paintkit. All the airlines using RR were covered.

At the time of release, all of the airlines that were using Rolls Royce engines on their 767-300's were painted. Which meant there was no need for a RR paintkit.

Use the GE or PW paintkit and make your own RR engine layers. Remember to change the pylons also, as they differ between engine types.

well as you know the shape of RR engines is different to the shape of PW or GE engines. The shape, in real life, of the pylons that hold the engines is also different for the various engine types.

This is the same on the texture. The shapes of the engine parts and pylon parts are different depending on the engine selection. So when using the paintkit of the GE aircraft, you would need to add your own blank parts that have the same shape as the shape of the RR parts. This is: Engine Pylons, Exhaust Cones, Engine Cowlings, Fans.

I would:

1. Get the GE paintkit.
2. Get an RR paint.
3. Open them both up in photoshop or similar.
4. Copy the entire RR texture onto a new layer.
5. Select the parts that are different, already mentioned those. Invert (opposite, or negative) your selection (CTRL+SHIFT+I in photoshop)
6. Hit Delete.
7. Create a new layer, called RR parts. Fill them with white. (colour 233,233,233 is a good one)
8. Delete the layer you pasted the RR parts on to.
9. Delete the original GE engine parts.
10. You will now need to re-paint the engine pylons and other engine details, otherwise you wont be able to publicly release your repaint.

I'm sorry if you don't understand the above. A useful translator is here: www.dictionary.com.

There's an even easier solution:
Switch to GE or PW engines. After all it's all just for an imaginary VA. With a few keystrokes the deal coulld be done, complete with bogus press release:
Quote:
<Your VA name here> announces switch from RR to GE engines. In a surprise move today, <Your VA name here> announced that they will be re-engining all of their 767-300 aircraft with GE engines. Details of the switch are sketchy, but insiders indicate that maintenance and difficulty of painting the RR engines are behind the change over...

Problem solved, thank you very much, I'll be here all week,

Did I miss something? Where did David say that he won't read and write in FS forums anymore?

Cheers,

Nope, you missed nothing. Nor did I ever say that David wouldn't read or write in FS Forums anymore.
