Default Waldron's beechcraft c99

Just wanted to share this shot with you. I'm working on a few repaints for this little beauty.

Technically, it's not "Waldron's" C99...it's "Tomkiewicz's" C99 and his very first scratch built one at that

BTW, that repaint looks fantastic
I see the paintkit has come in handy for you. Needs a wash really bad though...

Oops, I'm very sorry there Henry! Shame I can't edit the topic title. It's great to see some smaller AI traffic appear. Thank you for this fantastic little bird! I love it! Will you be adding LODs eventually?

The paintkit is great by the way! I'm working on a bunch of other repaints for your C99.

Any design plans for the future? Any chance of a C402, C208B, KA100/200, PA31 or PC12 coming from the Waldron/Tomkiewicz factory, perhaps?

No big deal

The thinking has been to make a decent low-poly LOD1 and paintkit so people could start painting and using these things ASAP. Dee has now been going back to some of his earlier releases and adding LODs and even releasing some newer ones already with LODs The good thing is that adding LODs later on shouldn't affect anyone's repaints already completed.

Eventually...probably...maybe..at some point...all the planes should have LODs

As far as what's next, you can probably guess by using subtraction because at the rate this is going we're going to run out of airplanes sooner or later... 8)

Henry,

let me guess, there is a 720, so a 707 would make sence too.

DC-6/7
DC-4 ...
DC-3

he he, still have some ideas what can be out.

Tom Gibson already has many old propliners for AI use at http://www.calclassic.com/
DC-6 ~ 1800 polys and 4 LODs
DC-7 ~ about the same
DC-4 - haven't checked it out

Don't know about the DC-3 M$ version has 12000 polys , BUT it also has 6 LODs

707...interesting...Hmmm...

Thanks Henry. We have a flood of small commuter planes, which have been long overdue.

Where to for you, Henry, smaller or larger? There's a desperate need for good low polygon models of many of the most popular light planes - Cessna twins, Beech Bonanza.... the list is endless.

I'll second that! And that Beech looks great! Keep 'em coming!

Thanks,

This one looks great!

I can only second what David said -- please take the chance to make some light plans that could also be used for Genral Aviation! There are nearly no GA planes out there that can be used for AI! (If there are some, please give me a hint...)

I didn't even know I was supposed to be going anywhere

I could agree with you about the need for small, single-engine GA, but I would question if there would there be any motivation for people to paint them other than for a couple generic red/blue/green schemes

Personally, I have VFR traffic shut off.

Henry,

You are probably right about the small number of repaints, but I'm sure they would be used a lot. Many of us fly out of smaller airports where there is much GA traffic and now its not too realistic.

Anyway, whatever you do it will be greatly appreciated. And by the way, is that repaint on the C99 available or did I just miss something?

Thanks again,

Jake

No sweat, Henry. Aardvark has gone 18 months without a plan. I only asked because I thought you might have had one.

The main reason I asked about the light planes is that in this country commuter airlines use Chieftains, Cessna 402 and 404, Islanders, Barons and even a couple of Partenavia P68s to link remote communities. Then there are the fleets of the Royal Flying Doctor (Pilatus PC12), several air ambulances using Beech 200, military (Beech 200), Coast Guard (Islander, Cessna 406) and so on. We have a cargo airline using IAI Westwinds.

The query was pure self interest. Pity we don't have any Beech 99 here at the moment but we do have a Saab 2000 on the way

I'm working on those, along with other Canadian and US C99's.

Thanks J.G. - I tried to search for some pictures of the Bearskin, but all that turned up was Beechcraft 100

Great! Another one to scratch off my to-do list. I've painted the following C99's up until now...

Ameriflight (N261SW, N4199C, N4299A, N223BH)
Freight Runners Express (N299CZ)
Prince Edward Air (C-FKCG)

Right now I'm working on...

Air Mikisew
Bearskin Airlines
Keystone Air Service
Prince Edward Air (Bearskin hybrid)

I'll upload during the weekend or early next week.

One hell of a necro-post but J.G. did you ever release those C99 paints? Currently ai_amf_metrofleet.zip and ai_amf_n7203c.zip are on AVSIM but no C99 paints of yours, I made a request for some good Ameriflight C99 paints over on EVAI so hopefully yours are out there somewhere!
