Default Will AI-A ever make an Airbus?

Just curious is all. It would be nice to have an A330-A340 set. I doubt it though considering all other models have been American made even the meal cart except the Embraer.

I'm pretty certain at some point we will build an airbus.

The "mostly Boeing" hangar we have now was not the result of any planned out anti-airbus strategy, it just happened.

As a matter of interest, the very 1st ai model I attempted to build (in gmax) was an A-320. It was quite awful looking.

Default I didn't mean any offense

I just assumed that modelling the Airbus aircraft in production right now would be far easier than making a Boeing.

No offense to either aerospace company

The aircraft in production by Airbus to me have always been only two. The two being the A320 derivative, and the A330 Derivative. I would assume that if you made the A320 then the A318-A321 would just be simply stretching or shrinking the fuselage and revamping the polygons. Same for the A330 which can be made into the A330-200, A340-200, A340-300, A340-500 and A340-600.

(It really wouldn't be wise making the A340NG considering not as many of them fly compared to the 777 line)

Hi, Mango,

I'm sure there will be a Aardvark Airbus one day. You just have to wait until one or other of the model makers suddenly decides that is what will be done. There have been several Aardvark planes that appeared as almost completed projects, much to the surprise of the rest of us.

You are correct in your assessment of the Airbus production. There are essentially just two sets of aluminium tubes, wide and narrow, which are cut to varous lengths to make the many Airbus models. But where Airbus does create a problem for model makers is in the wings. The A300/ A310 had completely different wings whereas the equivalent Boeing models, the 767-200/300 were the same. The A330 as another wing which is supposed to be the same as the A340 but from the modelling perspective isn't really. Then there is another wing again on the A340NG

Default It is amazing to see a new release at AI-A

Its always a surprise and pleasure to see a new aircraft roll out of the AI-A hangers.

Modelling the airbus (particularly the A32x series) is more difficult than you might think. Compared with say the 757 its a relatively ordinary shape. So the features than make us identify it as an airbus are far more subtle.

IFDG has it absolutely spot on (as a non-ai model) and FSP's are very good given the poly limitations. but almost all others end up looking like an airbus because they don't look like anything else. The PSS visual model in particular was decidedly naff, especially as it was payware.

I have to disagree here: I downloaded the IFDG as soon as it was released, and was strongly disappointed.
Something in the model is definitely wrong. Stange enough, many persons
around me have had the same feeling about the IFDG bus, persons who, like me, see several dozens of airbuses every day through the window
of the place where we work.

here's the Phoenix bus,

and the iFDG's one,

Again I disagree, I think on the contrary the PSS model was much better,
even as payware.
Maybe the payware aspect did impact the way you look at the bus?

Anyway, I think the iFDG cockpit windows size is way too small, the engines are wrong as well, and the aircraft is too low on its gear.
Of course the PSS is not perfect at all, but IMHO better than iFDG.

At the same time, on the PSS, the main gear door is too small, and seem
like the pylons are also a bit too short (while the iFDG's are too long!)
But the overall appearance of the model is better on the Phoenix buses.

Anywhere from 3 years (md80) to one month (emb-170).

So let's expect an Aardvark come back...
